Electors Photo Identity Cards in the Union Territory, Chandigarh

Chandigarh May 12:- With a view to achieve 100% coverage for the issue of Electors Photo Identity Cards in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, the Election Department has been setting up photography centers throughout the year in the past for this purpose. However, the desired objective has not been achieved as yet. Therefore, it has now been decided to cover each and every elector who has not yet obtained his/her Photo Identity Card through a special campaign whereby the photography teams will visit each house of the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency for on the spot photography. All residents of Sector-9,10,11,12,14 & 15 would be covered. Further photography will also be taken for those electors who are having their Photo I/Cards but their photo are required for Photo Electoral Rolls. The following schedule would be observed w.e.f. 18-5-2006 to 27-5-2006 for electors of Sector-9, 10, 11, 12, 14 &

All those electors who have not yet obtained their photo identity cards or whose photos are required to up-date Electoral Rolls are requested to make themselves available for photography on the date mentioned against their house number from 5.00 P.M. to 9.00 P.M. on all working days and 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays. It is also clarified that in case the photo Identity Cards are not obtained by the elector during this campaign his/her name will be struck out from the Electoral Rolls as per Election Law.
