Chandigarh Perspective

Chandigarh, April 19:- A Society by the name of Chandigarh Perspective was registered by the Chandigarh Administration under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) in 1998 to deliberate upon the issues relating to Architecture and Planning of Chandigarh and also to study and research the works of Le-Corbusier and other Architects. The Governing Body and the Executive Committee of this Society having both Official and Non Official members met from time to time to discuss these issues. It was subsequently felt that the functioning of the Society needs to be made more vibrant by including enthusiastic, active and eminent persons in various fields like Town Planning, Urban Development, Engineering, Industry, Education, Health, Banking, Tele-communication and Art and Culture so that the heritage aspects of Chandigarh can be synthesized with the emerging developmental trends and aspirations of the City. Hence it was felt that the scope of the society should be widened beyond the Architectural planning.
